The heart requires a constant supply of oxygen, similar to all the other parts of the body. For the heart to perform effectively, a good supply of oxygen is required. Oxygen is supplied to the heart by the coronary arteries. They work continuously to supply a good amount of oxygen to the heart. However, the problem arises when the arteries find it difficult to supply oxygen. This can happen for a variety of reasons, and one of them is deposits on the arteries.

Symptoms and Reasons for a Heart Attack

Because of unhealthy dietary habits, sometimes, the walls of the arteries are covered with plaque or some other form of deposit. The deposit can lead to a problem or blockage. The problem happens, when the blockage is so dense that it stops the blood from reaching the muscles of the heart. If the blockages worsen and the issues are not treated at an appropriate time, they may lead to a heart attack. A heart attack is known by different names as well, and one of them is myocardial infarction.
